COVID-19 Virus INFORMATION
With the growing global concern regarding the COVID-19 virus the health and safety of our patients and staff is of the upmost importance to us. Our planning and response to this issue is based upon guidance and information provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the BC Center for Disease Control.
These updates are also available to the public and can be found here:

As a reminder that for most people the risk of COVID-19 remains low, but as always during cold and flu season the best protection is hand washing, and cough and sneeze etiquette.
1. Use proper hand washing technique before and after you eat your meals. Hand washing is the best way
of preventing all respiratory virus infections.
2. Avoid touching your eyes and nose prior to washing your hands
3. Always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, and throw the used tissue into a garbage can and
wash your hands
4. Alternatively, if no tissue is available, you can cough or sneeze into your sleeve.
In response to the current situation and to continue keeping the clinic safe for all patients, particularly our elderly and immune-compromised patients, OASIS Mission Physiotherapy has implemented the following policies, effective immediately:
1. If you have a scheduled appointment and are unwell, please phone us. It may not be appropriate for you to come into the clinic at this time, if you have recently traveled outside of Canada, it has been recommended to self isolate for 14 days upon arrival.
2. If you display any of the following symptoms, please call us to re-schedule your appointment. The short notice cancellation fee will be waived during this time.
• runny nose
• sore throat
• cough
• fever or
• difficulty breathing for which you might need to seek medical attention
For those attending their regular appointments we want to assure you we are doing our best to prevent the spread of the virus. In addition to our regular sanitation of our treatment rooms, gym and waiting area, we have increased the frequency of sanitation of touch surfaces, we have a hand cleaning station available and encourage patients to use it when coming and going from our clinic. We also have hand sanitizer available for use while in our clinic.
The Mission Leisure Center has also taken steps to provide a safe and healthy environment, by having staff cleaning touch surfaces every 4 hours throughout the building.
We will continue to monitor this constantly changing situation, but regardless of how it evolves as a community and a country, it will make us stronger!
Your OASIS Mission Physiotherapy Team.
